Saturday August 1st @ Parker McMillan*
Hi Gang
After a great run of storming 2009 Shoreditch parties at Mother Bar, Hoxton
Pony and Zigfrid, we’re back on August 1st to celebrate 13 years of
Rampant!! Yep, it’s our big birthday party and we’ve spent thousands to put
on a huge event for you that is gonna rock!
The venue is one of those little known London gems that opens up a whole new
world of fun and we stumbled across it by accident - our best find in years.
A 700 capacity space that is used as film studios and an after party venue
for artists doing major stadium gigs in London. Past performers here include
Basement Jaxx, Franz Ferdinand, Groove Armada, Kasabian, Noel Gallagher and
The Enemy. Two rooms of fat quadraphonic sound systems, three arches of
seating areas, cool Shoreditch décor and friendly security on the door.
We’re joined on the night by two very special headline acts…
THE STREETLIFE DJ’S
Described as the UK’s answer to 2manydjs/Soulwax, signed to uber cool
French label Kitsune *and with a mesmerizing Radio 1 Essential mix under
their belts, these guys are on fire! A Streetlife DJ set can take you from
Altern8 into Depeche Mode, Gangstarr into Daft Punk, Adonis into The Who,
all of which will have the special re-edit treatment. Current Streetlife
faves include Soulwax, The Presets, Whitey, Simian Mobile Disco, Digitalism,
Headman, Justice, Sebastian, Klaxons, The Gossip, Glimmers, Boys Noize,
Mstrkrft, The Hacker, Peaches and Princess Superstar. 'The rules are, there
are no rules!' They add samples, accapellas and sound fx to the mix.
Compliment that with some of the slickest mixing and programming you're
likely to hear and the result is something very, very exciting.
'We love these guys because they rock...The UK's very own 2ManyDJs!” DJ
Magazine
“If you think Soulwax meets Sasha, meets Coldcut, you’re sort of in the
right area!” Pete Tong
“Freaked out party music put together with rampant professionalism… V cool!”
IDJ Mag
“Streetlife DJ’s are an incredibly talented duo, two of the most exciting &
creative DJ’s I’ve ever heard. Check ‘em out, they rock” Danny Rampling

HENRY CULLEN AKA D.A.V.E THE DRUMMER – minimal techno set
Henry first played at Rampant in his D.A.V.E The Drummer guise way back in
2000 and has performed loads of electrifying live sets for us (by the way,
when was the last time you saw a live act actually take their whole studio
to a gig?!). His early days saw many collaborations with the Liberator
collective on their stayupforever and cluster labels before going on to
start his own successful hydraulix imprint championing hard funky techno.
As the scene has developed, Henry has been making more melodic minimal
techno under his Mutate To Survive label and it absolutely rocks! Check out
the Portomento and Coalix tracks here www.myspace.com/mutatetosurvive.
Henry is one of the true pioneers of the London techno scene, has released
over 200 records and continues to have a hectic global DJ schedule, we’re
lucky to get him for this date. He’s promised to play a special birthday set
for us with some of his unreleased tracks and this guy sure knows how to get
a dancefloor kicking – bring it on!
RAMPANT ALL STARS
Joining our headline acts are Rampant residents Jose and The Woo, back with
their insane live electro show that has been absolutely killing it for us
over the last couple of years, Argentinian diva Julieta Blue, DJ & promoter
of South London’s Naked parties laying down fidget house slammers, Nick
Rampant and DJ Unknown bringing his twenty year collection of acid house
tunes to the party.
One the alternative tip we have Rampant residents Colin James playing smooth
Chicago classics and DJ Kata laying down his crazy set of swing, hip-hop,
indie & other stuff that most sane people would never stand a chance of
mixing together! Joining them are newcomers Evoh shakin’ bass on the dub tip
and KillEmillo fresh from his set at Mulletover/Uptownboogiedown with some
lush deep house grooves. We also welcome back legend Immy K who rocked our
Halloween party last year with his firing Drum & Bass set and will be
raising the roof again with an electrifying finish.
